Taking Your Pet by Taxi
Not every driver can take animals, so the most important step is to mention your pet when you book. Tell us what kind of animal it is, its size, and whether it travels in a carrier or on a lead. We then arrange a car and driver who are happy to carry pets.
Pet friendly journeys are popular for vet appointments, grooming, kennels and catteries, moving house, and days out on Wimbledon Common or in the parks around Cheam and Carshalton.
Tips for a Comfortable Ride
- Small pets and cats should travel in a secure carrier.
- Dogs should be on a lead; bring a blanket or towel for the seat or boot.
- For a large dog or a crate, ask for an estate car — see our fleet for sizes.
- Travelling with family as well as the dog? A 6 seater taxi gives everyone room.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs travel with their owners. Under the Equality Act 2010, licensed private hire drivers must carry assistance dogs at no extra charge unless they hold a valid medical exemption, so you do not need to book a pet friendly car for an assistance dog — just let us know when you book.
Airport and Station Trips With Pets
If your pet is travelling with you to a train, we can take you to stations such as Waterloo and Victoria. For pet-related airport trips, check your airline's rules first, then book your Heathrow taxi with your pet's details in the booking notes.
